Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider serving the result flow; our servers do not retain a copy of those search terms. A message sent to us contains only the information included in that message and is used to answer it.

Our hosting keeps ordinary server logs: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. We look at this in aggregate to keep the site healthy and to see which pages readers use. Cookies or similar technologies may support basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
What We Do With This Data
We use the limited data for operation, error correction, aggregate traffic measurement, and page improvement. We do not sell lists of visitors or create individual visitor profiles.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to county and state records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern what you submit there. That is especially true of the sponsored search results, which a third-party company provides.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data a website holds. Virginia's Consumer Data Protection Act is codified at Code of Virginia ยง59.1-575 et seq. Because this reference retains very little, a request normally involves the contact mailbox and relevant server logs. Use the Contact page. Public records held by Virginia or Fairfax County custodians are outside our control, and requests concerning those records belong with the custodian.
